On the third Monday of February we celebrate Presidents' Day, which has become a little celebrated holiday with lots of sales on almost every store in towns where it is observed.
Presidents' Day is meant to honor the birthdays of our first President, George Washington (Feb. 22, 1732) and the birthday of Abe Lincoln (Feb. 12, 1809). Rather than suspending services on two days very close apart, the government decided to celebrate them together on a day in between both dates; thus, the third Monday in February became the designated date to throw in a gigantic sale of everything, everywhere... er, a date to celebrate both Presidents.
