I was photographing the above Right Online banner at the Netroots host hotel when the woman on the right said, "Hey, he's NETROOTS! He's not supposed to be here." Other wingnuts told her I was allowed to be there.

The Minnesota Walk of Fame features five names. So far.

Pam Spaulding kicked off the first official day of Netroots Nation 2011 by appearing on the radio show of Lizz Winstead, which broadcast from the main floor of the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The first familiar faces I ran into here in Minneapolis were Washington Blade staffers Chris Johnson and Phil Reese.

A giant and odd-looking crane thingy has appeared above the future site of the Second Avenue subway's 72nd Street station. You gotta feel sorry for all the folks on the lower floors of the apartment buildings, who will likely be facing out on this mess for the next several years.

Embiggens nicely.
