Bulls Clinch Playoff Berth... Korver gets his Shot Back...Our second best power forward goes down with a leg injury
Welcome back Mr Korver, thanks for doing your job last night, 20 points and 4-7 from beyond the arc.
Then, late in the game Carlos Boozer went down with an apparent leg injury after a flagrant foul by Kwame Brown. But I'm gonna let those fans who don't watch every game in on a little secret: Taj Gibson is the Bulls best power forward. He is a better rebounder, defender, and finisher than Boozer and he has more size and quickness as well. He doesn't need 12-15 shots a game to be effective and his jumper has improved tremendously.
Just look at last nights stats: Taj had 14 pts and 6 rebs(4 offensive) on 6-of-7 shooting in 22 minutes. Boozer scored 10 pts(4-9 from the field) to go along with 7 rebs in 27 minutes. Now obviously this is only one game, but Taj has been as consistent as anyone on this team, while Boozer has struggled mightily since Noah's return a month ago.
Now obviously Boozer is a better scorer than Taj and his experience will be an asset in the playoffs. But make no mistake about it, Taj Gibson is a legitimate starter in this league and I wouldn't be surprised if we traded Boozer before his max contract is up.
