The Easton-Bell Sports pitching helmet prototype uses lightweight energy managing materials to provide protection to the most vulnerable areas of the head, without compromising comfort or performance.
There was a time in baseball when catchers didn’t wear a mask. And no hitter would think to go to the plate today without a helmet. Almost every park has a fence in front of the dugout to protect players, too. It might take 10 years — or some awful injury — but the day is coming when a pitcher wears a helmet.Let me ask you this, would you send your kid out to the mound without one?
Are you fist fucking me? What is this chicks softball? And as to whether I would send my kid out there without a helmet; my answer is absolutely. Mainly because it sends the wrong message to the opponent, that your stuff isn't that good, and your expecting to get liners back at your dome.
So, no my son will never wear a helmet in the field but instead will have a glove and a mastery of four pitches.
Also, I'd rather be the dad with a kid who took a liner to the head, then be the dad whose son looks like he's pitching for the special olympic team.
