Fan favorite and a personal favorite of mine, Jon Jones, beat up fan favorite and personal favorite of mine, Shogun Rua. I'll be the first to say I didn't see this coming. Not the jones victory, but the ease in which he dominated a fighter as well rounded as Shogun, TKO'ing Shogun in the 3rd. With Shogun's loss and Anderson Silva's demolishing of Vitor Belfort, 2011 has not been great for good looking brazilian guys.
On top of Jones becoming the new champ, he also ran down a mugger earlier in the day as he meditated in a park. Ya he ran down a dude who mugged a lady and held him down till the cops came,
then a few hours later he destroyed one of the most decorated 205 lbs fighters around. Meanwhile I drank by myself and watched tv at my apartment while two of my friends slept on my couch on Saturday.
Jones will fight friend and training partner Rashad Evans next. This has
caused drama among Rashad and his training camp, or I guess former training camp now. Jones seems to be impossible to beat, but everyone was saying the same shit about Machida. But it's
MMA right? No one is impossible to beat, unless you are Anderson Silva, or George st Pierre, or Jose Aldo.
