Description: When then-closeted guest-cohost Clay Aiken thought that Kelly Ripa dominated the airtime, he jokingly covered her mouth. Ripa later publicly blasted Aiken, saying that she didn't know where his hand had been. Rosie O'Donnell then reacted by accusing Ripa of homophobia on The View (even though Aiken was not openly gay). Ripa was actually watching the show so she called in and the two argued about it over the air. While I have mixed feelings about the Aiken vs Ripa dispute, O'Donnell was completely wrong about Ripa being homophobic. In fact, I'd say that she loves gay company, and her interaction with Anderson is probably what she's like with gay friends in private.
