Yesterday Fox News used the above photo of Tina Fey to illustrate a story about this year's major GOP presidential contenders. Whoopsie.

According to a former managing editor at Fox News, chairman Roger Ailes installed bullet-proof glass on his midtown Manhattan office windows because he feared assassination by gay activists. "They'll be down there protesting. Those gays!" Ailes reportedly said. Hit the link to read Rolling Stone's lengthy expose on Ailes and Fox.

Yes, that's the official Twitter account for the Secret Service. The tweet was deleted almost immediately and an "internal follow-up" has been promised.

The maker of this clip follows the Fox report with some photos from the slideshow I posted last night. It's interesting that Fox describes the crowd as only numbering in the hundreds, when most media outlets reported attendance at around 2500.

Fox News has terminated its contracts with Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich in anticipation of their presidential campaigns. The network had suspended the pair in early March.
Mr. Santorum filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission this week to officially explore a campaign for the nomination. He was set to participate in a debate in Greenville, S.C., Thursday night hosted by Fox News, the first debate of the 2012 election cycle. Mr. Gingrich announced his intention to form an exploratory committee earlier this year and is expected to formally take that step later this month. Both men have traveled extensively this year to meet with potential supporters in the early primary states.

What a douche. Can you believe he actually said "This is the greatest night of my career?" Unbelievable. The world's most wanted terrorist is killed after a ten year manhunt and it's all about Geraldo. Get this moron off the air ASAP. Fox, you're better than that. One of the heavy-hitters should've been in studio reporting this, but no, you bring in the guy that our own military kicked out of Iraq for drawing maps of the army's plans in the sand on network TV. You're the only network that didn't go to your A game. Shame on you. Step it up!

Thrilled about his newfound birtherism, Fox News has hired Donald Trump to join the cast of Fox & Friends, where he will appear on Mondays.
Most mainstream Republicans would love to see the birther issue dead and buried before the 2012 elections, but Trump doesn't want to appear to let go. And the "Fox and Friends" pulpit will allow him to say provocative things early in the week, which is certain to draw attention from presidential contenders such as Tim Pawlenty, who not only now has to compete for oxygen with the say-anything Donald, but also with unrepentant bomb-throwers such as Michele Bachmann and Newt Gingrich. Oddly enough, Trump is gaining a Fox News platform when some of his possible rivals for the GOP nomination have lost theirs. The network cut ties with Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum when they became clear about their presidential aspirations, and is poised to do the same with Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin if the time arises.

Watch our hero hand the Fox anchor her head.
Fox News has suspended the contracts of paid commentators Newt Gingrich and Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum over the pair's plans to run for the GOP 2012 presidential nomination.
Dianne Brandi, the network's executive vice president of legal and business affairs, said in an interview that the channel made the move because Gingrich aides told Fox News executives that the former House speaker is stepping up his exploration of a presidential bid. While Gingrich is not expected to announce that he is forming a federal exploratory committee this week, he is expected to say in Georgia on Thursday that he is meeting with advisors to explore seeking the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, a Gingrich aide said. Santorum, a former senator from Pennsylvania, has indicated that he plans to participate in Republican primary debates, Brandi said, "so that leads us to believe he is seriously considering running." Brandi said the network acted out of journalistic principle. "We can't have Speaker Gingrich on our payroll while he is in the midst of an exploratory committee to see if he's going to run for office," she said. "It's a clear conflict."Fox said they'll deal with Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee if and when either of them forms an exploratory committee for 2012.
