Anderson Cooper Will Soar as The New Phil Donahue

Technically, Anderson Cooper will be the new Oprah, since he's pretty much jumping into daytime talk TV next fall in the wake of the chat queen's dramatic exit.But he's more like Phil Donahue--gray haired, compassionate, with a healthy sense of humor, and a supportive spouse.
I actually think Anderson will be a natural for this format--he'll be able to cover light-hearted social trends one minute and cry and hug victims of whatever pressing problem in the inevitable human interest episodes the next.
And he's re-signed at CNN too!
He will surely dominate our lives around the clock--not that he doesn't already.
Have I gone all soft in the brain?
